Ms Helen Louise Jackson 72, of Charlotte.passed away Friday February 24,2017 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. Funeral service will be held Friday March 3, 2017 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church 3301 Beatties Ford Rd. Charlotte,NC 28216.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm . Interment will take place on Monday March 6, 2017 at the Onondaga Valley Cemetery Syracuse, NY.

Helen Louise Williams Jackson was called home on Friday, February 24, 2017.  She was supported and surrounded by her loving family.  Helen was born on August 25, 1944 in Syracuse, New York to the late Dotsie Short Williams Stewart and James M. Williams.

 

She was a graduate of Central Technical High School (class of 1962) and LeMoyne College (B.S. Business Administration w/ Honors; class od 1997) both of Syracuse New York. She was a long time employee of National Grid (Niagara Mohawk Power Utility Company) of Syracuse New York, where she retired as Customer Service Manager.  She was a committed and very active member of the Southern Missionary Baptist Church (Syracuse NY). Upon relocating to Charlotte, NC (2004), she became a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she continued serving the Lord until her health inhibited her ability to participate. Helen was an avid reader and loved crocheting. Her love of family and community was exhibited through her commitment in participating in the annual Short-Little Family Reunion and most recently her role as Newsletter and Tree Installation Chair in her neighborhood just to name a few.

 

Helen is survived by her four children: Jacqueline L. Browning (Matthew), Gayle T. Jackson, Khalid-Abdul-Wali, Dwayne M. Jackson, Sr.; nine grandchildren: Eboni N. Gordon, Dwayne M. Jackson 2nd, Toni B. Patterson, Muslimah S. Abdul-Wali, Muslim K. Abdul-Wali, MacKenzie R. Jackson, Keilana N. Jackson, Siddiyq Y. Abdul-Wali, and Dakarii M. Jackson; brother; Joseph Williams (Willa Mae) 2 aunts: Mary Lee Sweat and Ethel Lee Harvey (Thomas), and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
